In general, a physical system has invariant quantities which are very often related to its symmetry and to the invariance of the equation that describe it. A detailed study of the invariance property of the differential equation will be helpful in understanding this relation. The work is concerned with a preliminary investigation of the Lie-group which leaves invariant the Newtonian and Lagrangian equation of motion for a one-dimensional harmonic oscillator. A brief review of Ehrenfest\u27s adiabatic principle and the later treatments on exact and adiabatic invariants will be presented

Concentración y Competencia en el Sistema Financiero Crediticio Colombiano en la Última Década

Este trabajo estudia la relación entre los aumentos en la concentración y las dinámicas de competencia del sector financiero crediticio de los últimos años en la economía colombiana. Se encuentra que a pesar de los incrementos en la concentración que reflejan diversos indicadores analizados, el nivel de poder de mercado -medido como el estadístico H de Panzar y Rose (1987) por medio de un análisis de panel de datos- no se ha deteriorado en el periodo 1995-2005. From "the Nietzsche hypothesis" to the concept of governmentality. Theoretical changes in the work of Michel Foucault

Michel Foucault desarrolló las nociones de gobierno y gubernamentalidad en la segunda mitad de la década de 1970 para clarificar algunos de los problemas a los que había dado lugar su tratamiento del poder. En este texto se explican las razones teóricas que llevaron al francés a formular estas nociones desplazándose de una serie de elecciones conceptuales que el propio autor identificó con el nombre de “hipótesis Nietzsche”. A lo largo del escrito se intenta mostrar que las categorías de gobierno y gubernamentalidad permiten explicar de mejor manera las prácticas sociales de asimetría y dominación en nuestras sociedades que la primera noción de poder desarrollada por Foucault. El texto se concentra en el trabajo del francés en la década de 1970 y acentúa el carácter rupturista del artículo titulado El sujeto y el poder.Michel Foucault developed the notions of government and governmentality in the second half of the 1970s to clarify some of the problems that his treatment of power had given rise to. This text explains the theoretical reasons that led the French to formulate these notions, moving from a series of conceptual choices that the author himself identified with the name of “Nietzsche hypothesis”. Throughout the writing, an attempt is made to show that the categories of government and governmentality allow us to better explain the social practices of asymmetry and domination in our societies than the first notion of power developed by Foucault. The Spanish company in the face of COVID-19: adaptation factors to the new scenario

La pandemia de la COVID-19 ha cambiado de forma radical e impredecible el entorno competitivo de las empresas, siendo España uno de los países de su entorno que se ha visto más afectado. En este nuevo contexto, para hacer frente a unas condiciones del entorno extremadamente dinámicas, complejas y difícilmente predecibles, las empresas para poder adaptarse necesitan estar en posesión o desarrollar una serie de capacidades específicas. Este artículo pretende mostrar que el desarrollo de las TIC, la flexibilidad laboral y la capacidad de innovar son tres factores que favorecen la capacidad de las organizaciones para adaptarse a los nuevos y cambiantes entornos competitivos provocados por la emergencia sanitaria de la COVID-19. La capacidad de adaptarse se refleja a través de su habilidad para dar continuidad tanto a la gestión y monitorización de sus operaciones como a la relación con sus clientes a lo largo de todos los niveles del proceso de venta. Para analizar esta relación, se entrevistó a directivos de empresas durante los meses posteriores a la declaración del estado de alarma en España. Mediante la aplicación de la técnica de análisis multivariante PLS-SEM, se ha estimado que un mayor nivel de los tres aspectos indicados se relaciona positivamente con una mejor adaptación de las empresas tanto a las nuevas necesidades como a las limitaciones de operación en sus respectivos mercados.The COVID-19 pandemic has radically and unpredictably changed the competitive environment for companies, with Spain being one of the western countries most affected. In this new context, to face extremely dynamic, complex, and hardly predictable competitive environments, companies must adapt by having or developing a series of specific resources and capacities. This article aims to show that the development of Information and Communication Technology, labor flexibility and the capacity to innovate are factors that favor organizations having the ability to adapt to the new and changing competitive environments caused by the health emergency of COVID-19, reflecting the organization’s ability to adapt through its ability to give continuity to both the management and monitoring of its operations and the relationship with its customers throughout all levels of the sales process. To analyze this relationship, company managers were interviewed during the months after the declaration of the state of alarm in Spain. Through the application of the multivariate analysis technique Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), it has been estimated that high levels of ICT development, labor flexibility or capacity to innovate are positively related to a better adaptation of companies to both the new needs of their customers as well as the operating limitations imposed in their respective markets

Hot Axions and the H0H_0 tension

Scattering and decay processes of thermal bath particles involving heavy leptons can dump hot axions in the primordial plasma around the QCD phase transition. We compute their relic density, parameterized by an effective number $\Delta N_{\rm eff}$ of additional neutrinos. For couplings allowed by current bounds, production via scattering yields $\Delta N_{\rm eff} \lesssim 0.6$ and $\Delta N_{\rm eff} \lesssim 0.2$ for the cases of muon and tau, respectively. Flavor violating tau decays to a lighter lepton plus an axion give $\Delta N_{\rm eff} \lesssim 0.3$. Such values of $\Delta N_{\rm eff}$ can alleviate the tension between the direct local measurement of the Hubble constant $H_0$ and the inferred value from observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background, assuming $\Lambda$CDM. We analyze present cosmological data from the Planck collaboration and baryon acoustic oscillations with priors given in terms of the axion-lepton couplings. For axions coupled to muons, the tension can be alleviated below the 3$\sigma$ level. Future experiments will measure $\Delta N_{\rm eff}$ with higher precision, providing an axion discovery channel and probing the role of hot axions in the $H_0$ tension.Comment: 14 pages + appendices, 8 figures; v2, minor modifications, version published in JCA

Is Soccer a lie or simply a complex system?

Understanding soccer as a complex system we base on nature and the collective behavior of many organisms that "do calculations," seeking to generate solutions in a bioinspired way. When soccer mysteries appear, complex systems science emerges as a means to provide explanations. However, given the variety of interpretations that complexity and its associated properties can have and the understanding of what a complex system is, it is convenient to provide some elements to understand how unpredictability in soccer gives way to hundreds of counterintuitive results and how the science of complexity could contribute to the understanding of many phenomena in this sport.
